Channeling & Greatness
Where does greatness fit in on a Monday?
I saw the Michael Jackson movie yesterday and, spoiler alert, it was very much like a tribute movie.
I think it was interesting. Jafaar Jackson, who is his nephew, really embodied his voice, his movement, his energy, his kindness. Probably, you know, that energy runs in the family anyway, so he had an advantage. But he was quite intoxicating to watch on screen.
Michael Jackson was very beautiful as a performer, singer, and creator. He had such a gentle soul. He was very elegant, classy, soft-spoken, but also smart and highly emotionally intelligent, kind, and generous.
But it was very much a washed over. There was no resistance, no struggles. Everything was kind of painted over.
I think there were two parts of the movie that really triggered my thought process.
There’s a moment in the movie where he was channeling, just kind of waiting to receive from the universe or from God — signals, sounds, ideas.
I thought that was really interesting and marvellous.
Because when you are so busy and back to back, and you have your rituals and your routine, when do you ever create an opportunity to just channel and receive and manifest?
I feel like that’s such a constant reminder for me as a person who is a doer, who executes, who feels like things don’t move unless I move them, and I kind of shoulder that responsibility.
You forget that there are energy forces around you. Things that you could attract. Things that could be made easier if you had that mindset.
So it definitely made me think.
I’d be interested to understand: in a busy day, when you have companies to run, or when you work in the corporate world, or you have a 9 to 5, and you have kids, and you’re trying to work out — when do you channel right?
How do you set the intention to channel?
That section alone made me think of carving space and room into my day, setting the intention to channel greatness and to attract.
The second thing I thought about was this:
For somebody as innovative as Michael Jackson — in terms of fashion, dance, philosophy, sound — how do you integrate greatness into your day?
It was very clear he wanted to be the best in the world.
But then how do you have greatness if your life looks like a normal routine day?
Similar to channeling, where does greatness fall into the picture?
So many people want to achieve greatness.
But then how do you put in the work to be great again when your day is so bogged down?
When life is hitting you.
When you already have established routines and systems and frameworks.
You sometimes wonder where the greatness fits into the picture.
Maybe that was the real takeaway for me.
Not the tribute. Not the nostalgia.
But the reminder that even in ordinary lives, busy schedules, packed calendars, responsibilities, and routine, we still need to ask:
When do I receive?
When do I create space?
And where does greatness fit into my actual day?
